Phuktal gompa

The most typical type of traffic jam in Zanskar;
encounters between hordes of beasts and man. The drama of existence!

And around the corner a magnificent rockbuilding
becomes visible.

A view from upside/inside the famed Gelugpa order
Gompa.
Like in many other Gompas you can sleep and eat here for a small
donation to the monastic community. We slept on the roof, which is probably the area that is most free of
lice. I certainly itched and scratched all night anyhow.

Due to the steep mountains and the sporadic wandering
dense clouds,
the changes in light are sudden and awesome.

I recorded the morning prayer the next day on the
mini disc.
